Como Secondary College is a small State Secondary Independent Public School - offering a surprising package of all round support for its students.

It boasts a number of nationally respected specialist programs including;

The EMITS (Enriched Mathematics, Information Technology and Science) program which is a selective program available by application, testing and interview. The EMITS students are placed in a streamed class for all core curriculum areas for the first three years and then progress seamlessly to the year eleven and twelve mainstream program. The College has developed a strong relationship with Curtin University.

The Golf Academy provides an outstanding opportunity for students wishing to develop their golfing skills - to the level of highly competent or with the expectation of becoming a PGA member. The program is arguably Australia's best school program - with a string of local, state, and national titles and achievements to its credit. Over 16 professional golfers have graduated from the program, and the Academy holds five Australasian titles, five national teams titles, and thirteen state teams titles. A number of Academy players have been world schools championships' winners.

The Hockey Program is probably Australia's best school hockey program (and most certainly Western Australia's best school program - with both boys' and girls' teams dominating competition in Western Australia every year.

The music program is also excellent. The Contemporary (Jazz) Band is always in the top tier of bands competing at State and National competitions. The Senior Concert band is also outstanding and was this year's gold medal winner in the Melbourne Schools Band Festival.

The College has an outstanding Pastoral Care Program. The small school prides itself in catering very successfully for its very diverse population of international students, regional WA students, academic talent program students, as well as golfing, hockey, and music students - all integrated yet with opportunities to specialise to the highest standards.

The diversity of the student population is broadened further by the contributions of a strong International Students' program at the school and by students who come from all over the metropolitan area and regional Western Australia to be part of one of the specialist programs. Many Regional WA students choose to board in the nearby Rotary House.

The College offers international tours in Hockey, Golf and Music and the opportunity of travel to different international destinations with the World Challenge organisation every two years.
